Marie-Claire got her start in dance right here in Brisbane under the watchful eye of Elsie Seguss. Upon being offered the opportunity to travel to Vienna, Austria at the young age of 15, she embarked on what would be a 15 year career in ballet. Her Teacher in Vienna, Judith Reyn, instilled in her a passion for artistry and technique. She has been teaching in Brisbane at various schools since retiring from her professional career in 2014. She has coached students for competitions such as The RAD Australian Bursary, The Jacqueline Morland Awards, The Brisbane Performing Arts Competition, The Asian Grand Prix and Prix De Lausanne. Marie-Claire’s teaching style focuses heavily on creating a fundamental and technical understanding of dance for her students to help them develop their dancing to the best of their ability. Her international experience with The Vienna State Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet has endowed her with experiences that bring a unique quality to her teaching and to her students. She has worked with such renowned artists as Manuel Legris, Christopher Wheeldon, Jiří Kylián, Elisabeth Platel, Natalia Makarova, Vladimir Malakhov, Claude Bessy, Pierre Lacotte, Roland Petit.
