Successful Sisters

SISTERS Amelia and Alicia Townsend were chosen as joint arts/education category winners in the January-February YoungStar awards.

They qualified for the national titles after a string of outstanding performances at the showcase state titles and their efforts impressed judges.

Amelia finished fourth in the junior solos and her sister was third in the same event.

Nominations are open for our March-April YoungStars.

Entries can be submitted for achievements in Sport, Arts/Education and Community involvement by May 1. The YoungStar awards are run by Quest Newspapers and McDonald’s to honour local achievers aged between eight and 18. All bi-monthly winners will be invited to a Gala Presentation in June where the annual winners for each paper will be announced as well as the overall Quest winners.

Nominees must live in the Wynnum Herald’s distribution area and can only be nominated for accomplishments in March and April.
