THE style, grace and skill of Chandler’s Lily Spencer continues to startle as she makes her way to a possible career on the stage.
Outstanding results in the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane eisteddfods have led to her once again being named as the bi-monthly winner of the arts/education category of the Wynnum Herald’s YoungStar Awards.
On the Sunshine Coast Lily, 13, won first place in the classical ballet, demi character, slow modern, up-tempo jazz, national dance categories, and placed second in two other classifications.
At the Brisbane event she came first in six categories, those being classical ballet, demi character, slow modern, up-tempo jazz, national dance and contemporary.
She won the classical ballet championship and also the modern dance championship. To cap her effort she was named age aggregate winner, and best of all the overall excellence in senior performance 13 years and over for the entire Brisbane Eisteddfod.
The YoungStar awards, supported by Quest Newspapers and McDonalds, recognise the achievements of young people aged 8-18 in the fields of sport, arts/education and community service.
