British-born Guy Wheatstone is a skilled, classically-trained dancer who has performed with companies in the UK, South Africa and Australia. His repertoire includes roles in many classical and neo-classical pieces, and he has often worked with emerging choreographers to create roles in numerous new dance works.
Guy was accepted into the Royal Ballet School at the age of 13. During his six years at the school, he was taught by Gary Norman, Christopher Powney and Anatole Grigoriev. In 2008, Guy joined South African Ballet Theatre, where he performed roles such as the Prince in Cinderella, Siegfried in Swan Lake and the Prince in The Nutcracker, and was promoted to Soloist in 2010.
He left South Africa in 2011 to take up a position with Queensland Ballet as a Company Dancer. During his time with that Company, Guy performed extensively in mainstage works by François Klaus and productions by contemporary choreographers, including Ma Cong, Cameron MacMillan, Gareth Belling and Lucas Jervies.
Guy also has a strong interest in teaching ballet and has experience in giving classes at local dance schools and to pre-professional students.
