BIRKDALE ballerina Samantha Butler’s dreams have come true now that she has been accepted full-time into the Australian Ballet School.
Samantha, 14, has been dancing since she was three and has spent the past year honing her technique at Annette Roselli Ballet Academy.
“I auditioned a couple of years ago and didn’t get in the first time, but auditioned the next year and they accepted me into Level 2 on a part-time basis.
“I have been wanting to go full-time ever since,” Samantha said.
Ms Roselli said Samantha was a focussed and dedicated pupil.
“She really took on board what I said. She’s a pleasure to work with,” Ms Roselli said.
Samantha went to the Australian Ballet School over Easter for a week of intensive classes.
“The head of student training, Leigh Rowles, said she saw an improvement in Samantha and not even two weeks after that she received a letter saying she was accepted for full-time enrolment at Level 5.
“She was hoping she would be accepted into Level 4 but she’s skipped it so it’s quite thrilling for her and she really does deserve it.”
Samantha will move to Melbourne next year to begin her training.
